Coole Park Visitor Centre will now be open on weekends during the month of October so you now have extra time to visit!
Coole Park will soon be playing host to a new Parkrun event. It's a 5 kilometre course that can be run, walked or jogged every Saturday morning beginning on October 5th. This could be the perfect opportunity for you to get fit and healthy in the beautiful natural surroundings of Coole Park. Please see www.parkrun.ie for more information.
Come along to out Heritage Week Bat Walk on Friday, the 23rd of August at 08:30pm to discover the mysterious world of bats and hopefully get to see and hear some of these wonderful creatures of the night too. This event is weather dependent. Dress warmly and bring a torch.

Join us at Coole Park Visitor Center on Saturday, July 13th for a free guided tour of the turlough landscape here in the nature reserve. A turlough is a seasonal lake and has a unique assemblage of species associated with it. Our NPWS guide will lead this walk to explain all about the geology, hydrology, flora and fauna of the site. Here at Coole Park we are beginning our annual summer programme of events for children. Our 'Open your Eyes to Nature' events will run every Wednesday morning through July and August aiming to increase awareness of and appreciation for the natural world. These are drop in events that will begin at 11am and go on until approximately 12:30, with activities such as nature walks, bug hunts, arts & crafts, bird-watching, mammal ID and scavenger hunts.
